RATCHETS,EXTENSIONS,9/16 SPARKPLUG SOCKET FOR 5.4 3VALVE ENGINE, 7MM,10MM SOCKETS, PB BLASTER , ANTI SIEZE COMPOUND
Instructions
This works well on a cold engine that you let run for 5 mins before performing spark plug replacement
Step 1
Remove PCM
Step 2
Blow all debris and dirt from around spark plug holes.
Step 3
Remove all coil on plugs. Disconnect all fuel injectors except #8 back drivers side
Step 4
Break all spark plugs loose 1/8 turn. Very important do not go to far just break loose and then spray PB Blaster in all spark plug holes and wait 30 min. Do not spray too much lubricant down hole . The last thing you want to do is hydrolock an engine.
Step 5
Start with #1 plug and work out slowly with ratchet tightening and loosening to allow carbon to break away. Then do #5 the same way so you get the hang of it. If you break any plugs you have to have a special tool to remove broken plug so take your time and work plug back and forth slowly to remove.
Step 6
When all plugs are removed, reconnect PCM and turn engine over to blow out any excess lube.
Use small amount of anti sieze on bottom of spark plug, not tip or threads and reinstall all plugs.
Reinstall everything else and your done. This really is not a hard job but you must take your time with it to properly do. So be careful and give it a try.
